Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) commissioned a 600 MW coal based unit at Singareni Thermal Power Project in Adilabad district of Telangana. The unit has been commissioned at the upcoming 2x600 MW Singareni Thermal Power Project (TPP) located at same place. According to the company’s management, the project is being developed by Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL). SCCL is the India's second largest coal mining company. After commissioning thermal plant for BHEL, SSCL built up its diversified into the power generation business. BHEL commissioned second thermal plant in Telangana within a short span of three months. Earlier in December 2015, the company had commissioned a 600 MW thermal power plant at Kakatiya in Telangana. The second unit of Singareni TPP is also in an advanced stage of construction and is expected to be commissioned in near term.
