Bharat Drone Shakti - 2023 inaugurated by RM Rajnath Singh  at IAF Airbase in Hindan, Ghaziabad

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Bharat Drone Shakti - 2023 at the Indian Air Force airbase in Hindan Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh today. Indian Air Force and Drone Federation of India are co-hosting the event. During the programme, Mr Singh will formally induct the C-295 transport aircraft into the Indian Air Force. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and other dignitaries are also present in the event. 

The event is witnessing participation from more than 75 drone start-ups and corporates. The Bharat Drone Shakti event is expected to attract around five thousand attendees, including representatives from central government, state departments, public and private industries, armed forces, paramilitary forces, and representatives from friendly countries. Bharat Drone Shakti will give a fillip to India's commitment to becoming a global drone hub by 2030. India has formalised the acquisition of 56 Airbus C-295 aircraft to replace the Indian Air Force AVRO fleet. The acquisition of 56, C295 aircraft will boost the Make in India initiatives. 

This event, scheduled for September 25th and 26th, will feature live aerial demonstrations. In India, the utilization of drones is on the rise, spanning across military and civilian applications. Drone technology has rapidly transformed both civil and defense sectors, enhancing efficiency, reducing risk exposure, and elevating capabilities.  The IAF has extensive experience in deploying Remotely Piloted Aircraft for Intelligence Surveillance and reconnaissance operations.
