According to police sources, the accused student has been apprehended following the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) by the victim at Haridevpur Police Station. "The woman stated in the FIR that she was called to the hostel for a counselling session. She then became unconscious after consuming a drink laced with drugs at the hostel. The woman realised she had been raped after regaining consciousness," a police officer confirmed.
Furthermore, the victim has accused the perpetrator of issuing threats to dissuade her from disclosing the assault. Police promptly acted on the complaint, detaining the accused initially and subsequently formalizing his arrest.
