In a significant move in the entertainment industry, Adar Poonawalla, CEO of the Serum Institute of India, has secured a major stake in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, beating competitors like Reliance and Saregama. As per the announcement by Dharma Productions, Poonawalla's Serene Entertainment has acquired a 50% stake in the Bollywood production house for ₹1000 crore. Karan Johar will continue to retain the remaining 50% of the company.
