Acharya Das had been undergoing treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow after suffering a stroke.

Hospitalisation and Health Condition

Acharya Satyendra Das was initially admitted to a private hospital in Ayodhya following his stroke but was later transferred to SGPGI for advanced medical care. He had been battling multiple health issues, including diabetes and high blood pressure, which complicated his condition. His health had been a matter of concern for his followers and well-wishers, who prayed for his recovery.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited SGPGI on Tuesday evening to inquire about Acharya Das's health. The Chief Minister's visit underscored the deep respect and reverence held for the spiritual leader, not only in Ayodhya but across the state and the country.

Acharya Mahant Satyendra Das had been the chief priest of the Ram Temple since before the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992. A respected member of the Nirvani Akhara, Acharya Das dedicated his life to spiritual service from the age of 20. CM Yogi Adityanath Mourns the Loss

In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), CM Yogi wrote, "The demise of Acharya Shri Satyendra Kumar Das Ji Maharaj, the supreme devotee of Lord Ram and the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Shri Ayodhya Dham, is extremely sad and an irreparable loss to the spiritual world. Humble tribute!"

He added, "We pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant a place to the departed soul at his feet and give strength to the grief-stricken disciples and followers to bear this immense loss."
