Tamil Nadu, as a state, has been alternatively ruled by DMK and AIADMK for the last 45 years. Both the parties have been harping on the so-called social justice, projecting EV Ramasamy and Annadurai as their icons of social reform, while in fact both these “icons” were responsible for the social decay that has set in. Both the parties have been following the politics of dividing the Hindus along caste lines, alienating the dalits from the Hindu fold, simultaneously appeasing minorities and belittling Hindu majority and amassing huge wealth through corrupt practices. While Karunanidhi developed his own family, Jayalalithaa was utilised by her adopted family to develop themselves.
The last 45 years of Dravidian rule (1967 to 2011) has produced the following “remarkable” results:
The Tamils stand totally divided along caste lines. The Dravidian movement has led to the formation of scores of similar outfits led by worthless politicians/actors/ caste leaders, whose one and only objective was to amass wealth. Now we have similar kind of parties MDMK led by V Gopalasamy aka Vaiko, DMDK led by Actor Vijaykanth, PMK led by Dr Ramadoss, VCK led by Thirumavalavan, etc, doing nothing for the state and its people.
Each & every caste/community led by opportunistic leaders have affiliated itself to a political party.
Major political parties have their own print & electronic media houses.
Water scarcity is still prevalent from capital Chennai to remote villages.
Many villages are still there without toilets.
Hundred per cent power supply is not ensured.
The status of SCs & STs remains the same without much improvement. The state still has hundreds of worshipping places refusing entry to dalits; hundreds of manual scavengers; scores of caste walls separating dalits and OBCs/BCs/MBCs; two-tumbler system in tea shops in hundreds of towns; separate burial grounds for dalits and refusal of entry even in saloons! In certain villages, the dalits are not allowed to walk on the public road, wear chappals, ride bicycles, wear dhotis folded, wear towels on shoulders, use common wells and get clothes washed or ironed. Laundaries have separate almirahs for dalits!
All the castes have been included in the various reserved categories and the state has achieved the “100 per cent backward” status. Brahmins, the only forward community is negligible, as many have migrated out of the state.
The primary & secondary education has not seen much improvement. The poor & downtrodden are still not given access to primary & secondary education. Their intelligence quotient is maintained deliberately at a lower rate through the reservation policy in the name of social justice.
While their educational access is denied on one side, they are treated as slaves by throwing “freebies” on the other side. They are kept as permanent dependents of the government without empowerment. The financially well-off and educationally empowered OBCs have fully utilised the reservation benefits at the cost of financially weaker MBCs, SCs and STs.
Temple lands have vanished to a great extent and the maintenance of thousands of temples built by the ancient kings is in doldrums. Many temples are ruined and in dilapidated condition. The revenue from temples is diverted to other sectors.
Churches have come up in maximum number of villages and conversion & evangelisation activities have increased at an alarming rate. There is an unholy nexus between Church and Dravidian parties leading to rampant evangelisation of the state. This nexus has extended to the North and East of Sri Lanka as well, as evidenced by the full backing given by the Church to LTTE from behind.
Naxalism, Islamic fundamentalism, and Tamil extremism have increased considerably notwithstanding the LTTE activities in the past.
The cultured & disciplined Tamils have been transformed into uncultured and immoral Dravidians, and the state, which was famous for its rich religious & cultural heritage has been reduced to a state of anarchy. Thanks to the Dravidian parties, People have become utterly corrupt and corruption has become a way of life in Tamil Nadu. People sell their votes for money!
Corruption as way of life
Justice Sarkaria Commission indicted Karunanidhi for corruption in allotting contracts for the Veeranam Drinking Water Project. The Commission said Karunanidhi was a veteran of 'scientific corruption' meaning that the investigators would find it very difficult to prove his corrupt practices. Such scientific corruption has continued over the years leading to the 'growth' of the family and a few party leaders, who are close to the family. The permanent partnership at the centre since 1996 and an ineffective opposition in Tamil Nadu have emboldened the family to indulge in corruption blatantly in the current term.
As corruption is a way of life for Congress too, the DMK ministers at the centre indulged in corrupt practices violating all norms of governance, showing scant regards to probity in public life. The colossal waste of public money in the “Sethusamudram Project”, and the huge loot in “2G spectrum allocation” have been significant among the many.
The principal actor in the world-record spectrum scam is former Telecom Minister A Raja who was described by Karunanidhi as an innocent 'dalit' and that he was being targeted by 'Brahminical' classes. Karunanidhi said, “Is there one justice for Sudras, and another one for Brahmins, who develop their belly without performing any work? In Tamil Nadu, there is no rebirth for 'Manu Dharma' which advocates one justice for self and another one for Sudras.” He also insulted Dr Ambedkar by equating him with A Raja. He said, “Raja had totally dedicated himself to the cause espoused by leaders like Dr BR Ambedkar.”
When Raja lost his position as a Cabinet Minister, the response of DMK cadres was swift and emphatic. While Raja was given a hero's welcome at Chennai airport, effigies of Dr Subramanian Swamy were burnt in many places in Tamil Nadu to protest his championing the cause against corruption among public servants. DMK hooligans even made threatening remarks, including that of beheading him, against Dr Swamy, which was flashed across the state by TV channels. This made a group of responsible and highly placed intellectuals (former judges, IAS officers, retired officers from the armed forces and chiefs of cultural and social organisations) to write to the Prime Minister requesting him to enhance the security cover for Dr Swamy across the country.
As Raja is cooling his heels inside Tihar jail, the heat is being felt here in Chennai by the DMK family. Many places including Karunanidhi's Kalaignar TV office were raided by the CBI and the sleuths took away incriminating documents. Sources say that the CBI is expected to interrogate Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi anytime soon. The Nira Radia Tapes have revealed a lot of behind-the-scene activities involving Karunanidhi's family members, their auditors, certain industrialists and even journalists. The latest revelation was the letter written by Ratan Tata to Karunanidhi singing paeans to A Raja. The Christian 'activist' Father Jagath Gasper Raj's office was also raided.
Party is Family; Family interest is priority!
DMK patriarch and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi always used to boast “Kazhagam en kudumbam” meaning “Party is my family”. And he has lived up to his saying by making the party his family's fiefdom. No other leader in the party can dare challenge the family members. It is similar to the Nehru family, which holds the Congress party as its own fiefdom. Probably that could be the reason for this kind of unholy alliance and joint loot of public money. While the Congress is under the control of only one family, that is Sonia and her siblings, the DMK is unfortunately under the control of three families, that is Karunanidhi's first and second family apart from Maran family. It may seem that Karunanidhi has a firm grip over the three families, but inside sources reveal that it is not so.
Though Karunanidhi has indulged in 'scientific' corruption and even faced the consequences many times in the past, the 2G spectrum case has literally shaken him and his family to a great extent. Even when he was in the opposition at the state level, his alliance in the centre has saved him and his family and business interests for the past 15 years, since 1996. This is the first time CBI has landed on his own business houses and residences close to him despite his being in power in the state as well as centre. The reasons being (i) the loot is so huge, (ii) the opposition's onslaught on the state and central governments is sustained and (iii) the case is under the Supreme Court's direct supervision. The “Dalit Raja” has put the “OBC Emperor” and his families in a real fix.
Feuds of the past
This issue has caused a lot of fissures within the first family of Tamil Nadu. Family feud is not new to Karunanidhi. He has experienced them in the past and he has also solved them effectively. His first son MK Muthu born to his first wife the late Padmavathy was never getting along with others and now he has estranged himself away from them. Even within the second family, Karunanidhi faced many fissures, which forced him to send his eldest Son MK Azhagiri down south to Madurai long back. Though Azhagiri didn't show any interests in politics in the initial stages, he has of late emerged as a strong political force in the south. Even now the relationship between Stalin and Azhagiri is not as cordial as it is made out to be, say party cadres. The fissures are always there as burning embers.
The Maran brothers (Kalanidhi and Dayanidhi) are grand nephews of Karunanidhi, who is the maternal uncle of the late Murasoli Maran, who served as a Union Minister in many governments. With the advent of Dayanidhi Maran, in place of his late father, in the political scenario, the businesses of Maran brothers made a giant leap forward.
Meanwhile, Karunanidhi declared his third wife's daughter Kanimozhi his “literary heir”, but she seemed to have shown more interests in politics and making fortunes. She, with the help of her mother, developed her own coterie in the party. The very fact that the “stalwarts” like TR Balu and A Raja belong to her camp proves her influence over her father.
Apart from politics, all the three families focus on three major fields namely media, cinema and real estate. They have been on a buying spree. While they have shares in most of the media houses, the rest is literally gagged and the cinema industry is fully under their control. They also call the shots in the real estate industry. The next generation, the heirs of Stalin and Azhagiri are also actively involved in businesses.
When power and position comes with lot of money, it is quite natural to develop fissures leading to feuds. When the Marans rubbed Azhagiri on the wrong side by publishing an opinion poll in their newspaper Dinakaran in 2007, in which, Azhagiri was 'given' a vote share of just 2 per cent favouring him as Karunanidhi's political successor against Stalin's 70 per cent, the newspaper's Madurai office was attacked and set afire by Azhagiri's supporters and three staff members were murdered. This created a big feud within the family and resulted in Karunanidhi ditching his grand nephews, removing Dayanidhi Maran from the union ministry and starting his own Kalaignar TV. Although he united both the families on the eve of 2009 general elections, the fissures are still there as per the inside sources.
Impact of spectrum scam on the family
Meanwhile, it was alleged that Azhagiri was not happy with the influence of the third family of Rajathi Ammal and her daughter Kanimozhi, especially after the image of the party got badly beaten by the spectrum loot. Once he almost thrashed A Raja when he came face-to-face with him at Delhi airport. He was seen scolding Raja for bringing disrepute to the party as well as family not only because of the spectrum scam but also because of his close friendship with Kanimozhi. It may be recalled that Nira Radia too had talked to Raja about his closeness with Kanimozhi, saying that his dark face blushed whenever he talked about her.
Though Raja belongs to Rajathi Ammal (MK's third wife) camp and the 'benefits' of spectrum scam have allegedly gone to Raja and Kanimozhi, the Dayalu Ammal (MK's second wife) camp also will fall into the CBI's net, as she holds 60 per cent share in Kalaignar TV, which has got some 250 crore from DB Realty's Shahid Usman Balwa (supposedly connected with Dawood Ibrahim) who is a beneficiary of spectrum allotment. Incidentally, Kanimozhi also has 20 per cent share in the TV channel. While the sons of Dayalu Ammal, Stalin and Azhagiri, may be fuming against Kanimozhi for creating problems to the TV channel, the Maran brothers of SUN TV Network must be watching the developments with glee, as Kanimozhi and Raja successfully prevented Dayanidhi Maran from becoming the telecom minister, with the help of the “influential” Nira Radia. Also Nira Radia's tapes have exposed Dayanidhi's most damaging remarks against Azhagiri making fun of his weaknesses including his inability to speak in English.
So, all the families are 'united' with a weak thread held by an aged and weak Karunanidhi. The fissures are alive like burning embers and the volcano may erupt anytime. The moment Karunanidhi retires or becomes inactive in politics, the eruption will happen and the party is likely to disintegrate.
BACKGROUND
Before Independence, the “Justice Party”, dominated by leaders belonging to forward communities like Chettiars, Reddiyars and Mudhaliars, was in power and it ruled the state known as Madras Presidency then. These leaders were in fact acting as stooges to the British rulers and tried their level best to retain the British rule in Madras Presidency when the transfer of power happened after Independence. They literally begged the British not to leave Madras Presidency and to continue their rule. Most of the well-known leaders of Justice Party like Panagal Raja, Muthiah Mudhaliar, Thyagaraja Chettiar, Annamalai Chettiar, Bopili Raja were all 'non-Tamils' but 'believers'.
EV Ramasamy, a Kannadiga, who started his political career in 1919 by joining Congress, could not cope up with the true nationalists there and hence resigned in 1925. EVR, who wanted to come to the limelight by hook or crook, started the “self-respect movement” (with irrational Rationalism), as an alternative to Hindu culture and tradition, in the name of “social reform”. Later in 1939, he became the President of the Justice Party. As most of his colleagues in the Justice Party were 'believers', they didn't like his atheistic principles and his peddling of anti-Hindu rhetoric in the name of atheism in the political and social arena.
Meanwhile in 1937, Congress Party captured power and Rajaji took over as the Premier of Madras Presidency (also known as Madras Province). He ensured clean administration and social justice. He gave ministerial birth to Munusamy Pillai who belonged to the backward community; he ensured the temple-entry for dalits, admission for SCs and STs in schools and education through mother tongue, through proclamations; he enforced prohibition; he brought in debt-relief measures for the poor and low class who were reeling under debts. Rajaji ensured many other welfare measures which never happened during the regime of Justice Party.
The Congress gained foothold in the province, as the freedom movement spread like wildfire. As a result, the Justice Party slowly got disintegrated and EVR founded the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) in 1944 with 'atheism' (read anti-Hinduism) and 'Dravidasthan' (a separate Dravidian state) as the two main objectives.
At the time of Independence, when Mohammed Ali Jinnah demanded a separate Pakistan, EVR made a demand for a separate Dravidasthan and sought the support of Jinnah. But Jinnah ignored EVR, and instructed his lieutenant Quaid-E-Millat (Mohammed Ismail) to attempt to form 'Moplahstan' in Kerala.
Later, Annadurai, who had a few misunderstandings with EVR, developed a dislike to the autocratic style of EVR, and the dislike reached its height when EVR, in his seventies, married Maniammai, who was just thirty years of age. Due to internal feud and worsening relations, Annadurai came out of DK along with VR Nedunchezhian, KA Mathiazhagan, K Anbazhagan (current State Finance Minister), NV Natarajan and EVK Sampath and started the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) in 1949. Even at that time, the present Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was a nonentity!
Both DK and DMK worked with the only aim of separating Tamil Nadu from India and they wanted to achieve this by isolating the “Tamils” (the people of Tamil Nadu) and separating them from the Hindu fold. For this, they utilised the British-sponsored “Aryan-Dravidian Theory” to the hilt. They asserted that “Dravidasthan” was their birthright and coined the famous slogan, “Adainthal Dravida Nadu; Adaiyavittal Sudugadu”, meaning, “Achieve Dravidian Land, if not, Head to Burial Ground”.
Due to internal feud in Congress between Rajaji, Kamaraj and Nehru family, the DMK, utilizing the mass media like press and cinema to the hilt, gained momentum and captured power in 1967. The support of Swatantra Party, started by Rajaji after his coming out of Congress, also helped the DMK. The concept of “alliance” came into being for the first time only then (1967), and that turned out to be a great blunder by Rajaji, as proved by the fact that the state could not get liberation from the clutches of Dravidian racists even after 45 years.
Annadurai, who became the Chief Minister in 1967, was down with cancer and he died in 1969. Then raised Karunanidhi to the occasion, cleverly moved his coins and became the Chief Minister sidelining Nedunchezhian, who was second only to Annadurai. Later Karunanidhi created the post of “Party President” (until then the top post was General Secretary held by Nedunchezhian) and became the Party Chief too. He cleverly used the mass appeal of actor MG Ramachandran (MGR), who had a terrific fan following across the state as a movie hero.
Later on in 1972, again due to the internal feud, DMK got divided and MGR started AIADMK, as he fell out with Karunanidhi. Since 1967 both DMK and AIADMK have been ruling (ruining) the state alternatively. In the process, the state got divided as Brahmins and non-Brahmins due to the ugly policy of anti-Brahminism practiced by both the Kazhagams along with DK, which remained as a “social-reform” (social-deform) movement under the leadership of K Veeramani, who took the mantle after EVR's death.
MGR's AIADMK captured power in 1977 and MGR remained as Chief Minister till his death in 1987. While Nedunchezhian joined MGR, Anbazhagan preferred to stay with Karunanidhi. MGR's death brought in his heroine (in films) Jayalalithaa to the leadership, as she had already entered politics as his 'propaganda secretary'. She also solved the internal feud within AIADMK, as MGR's wife Janaki could not match her, despite being a Chief Minister for a few days.
In the meantime, Karunanidhi developed contacts with LTTE and Tamil separatists and MGR's death gave him a chance to enter the corridors of power in 1989. But then, his LTTE connection and the killing of Rajiv Gandhi by LTTE made him lose power. Again in 1996 he captured power, thanks to the utter misrule of enigmatic and egotistical Jayalalithaa during 1991-96. Between 1996 and 2001, Karunanidhi turned his party into his family's fiefdom and this period saw the sudden rise of Maran brothers in Chennai, Azhagiri in Madurai and of course Kanimozhi too. Until then only Stalin and the late Murasoli Maran were in the limelight.
Although Jayalalithaa ruled again for five years between 2001 and 2006, she could not suppress the growth of the DMK families and their businesses, as Karunanidhi was sharing power at the centre. The cleverness of Karunanidhi's politics is in the fact that he always takes care of his family and business interests by sharing the power at centre, whichever party (National Front, United Front, NDA, UPA-1 and UPA-2) forms the government, DMK has been a part of central government since 1996.
Again thanks to Jayalalithaa's autocracy and arrogance, MK regained power in 2006. Continuous sharing of power at the centre since 1996 and two terms in the state in the said period have helped him expand his kingdom to many areas within and outside the state too.
The Election Scenario
However, with regards to the Chennai-based media's coverage of spectrum scam, it can be said that the noise is low. Very little denting of DMK's image is seen in the media debates and deliberations. The media in Tamil Nadu looks a sort of gagged since 2006. There has been a credible media failure to highlight the spectrum loot, Raja's arrest and his continued stay in Tihar Jail, charged with corruption charges. Only Jaya TV (owing allegiance to Jayalalithaa) and Captain TV (owing allegiance to actor Vijayakanth) produce and air talk-shows on 2G spectrum scam, but it is not clear if the message has gone down to the people. And even in those two channels it is only Dr Subramanian Swamy, who is seen very vocal and vociferous apart from journalist Cho Ramaswamy and columnist Gurumurthy.
There seems to be a dearth of leaders in the rest of the opposition to talk about the spectrum scam and take the message to the people. AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa's health doesn't allow her to travel extensively and hence she simply issues statements sitting at her hill resort. Moreover, her track record of corruption is also as bad as that of Karunanidhi, if not worse. So, she doesn't have the credibility to talk about the evils of corruption.
Actor Vijayakanth is not competent enough to talk about issues like spectrum scam. He was under terrific pressure from DMK through Congress to contest alone. Though he has always positioned himself as a third alternative to DMK and AIADMK-now he had yielded to the demand of the situation and joined AIADMK-led alliance and got 41 seats to his kitty. MDMK and Communists, who are already there with Jayalalithaa, do not have much presence in Tamil Nadu's political arena. BJP is the weakest among all the opposition, and it can capture one or two seats only, on its own, but if it ties up with Dr Swamy's Janata Party and take up a strenuous campaign, the alliance may be in a position to reach double figures.
In spite of the oposition's disarray and limitations, DMK and the Chief Minister had a rude shock when the public meeting addressed by Dr Subramanian Swamy on the two issues of Corruption as a curse and Hindutva as a solution attracted huge crowds of nearly 2 lakh in the southern city of Tirunelveli. The CM was left wondering as to how such a large crowd could gather to hear Dr Swamy and that too for listening only two topics: Hindutva and corruption among public servants.
This may point to the simmering discontent among the people of Tamil Nadu. But the effectiveness of opposition's campaign still remains a question. Karunanidhi being a seasoned campaigner had already told the general public that Raja would be punished if he was found to be involved in corruption. Now since Raja is sent to prison, Karunanidhi would not hesitate to make him a scapegoat. The public may turn against DMK in large numbers, only when a member of CM's family gets arrested or at least subjected to interrogation by the CBI.
Karunanidhi is also aware of the imminent interrogation of his family in general and Kanimozhi in particular by the CBI and he is also sure that such a happening before elections would be too costly for his party. That is why he enacted a drama of withdrawing from the UPA and announcing the resignation of his party MPs serving as ministers in the UPA. He had wanted the Congress to safeguard his family from CBI's interrogation, but the Congress leadership didn't budge by conveying its helplessness citing Supreme Court's supervision of CBI investigations.
A well-experienced old warhorse, Karunanidhi fired his last salvo of withdrawal from UPA, under the assumption that it would rattle Congress. The hiccups in the seat sharing talks came in handy for him to project it as a reason for his withdrawal of support. It might have seemed that Congress had overplayed itself during the negotiations and that the party high-command had even insulted Karunanidhi by making him wait for more than six hours when he visited Delhi to meet Sonia and Rahul. But he will not mind as long as his interests are served. And the latest statement from Pranab Mukherjee that “We know how to create problems and we also know how to solve them” was a clear giveaway.
Karunanidhi was left with no other alternative but to delay the resignation of his ministers. He sent his emissaries (TR Balu, Dayanidhi Maran and son Azhagiri in turn) to Pranab and Sonia, but the ruthless Congress tested his patience literally traumatizing him. Finally, the “actual” negotiations took place. And after days of intense bargaining, the two parties clinched a deal, under which the Congress would contest 63 seats of the 234 seats in the state.
Karunanidhi's demand of CBI staying away from his family until elections would be taken care of. That is a peanut matter for Sonia, as a mere adjournment in the Supreme Court is enough. Also, the Congress seems to have a pliable election commission, which would dance to the tunes of Congress high command, as evidenced by the election of Home Minister P Chidambaram from the jaws of defeat after three rounds of counting and a supposedly tacit understanding with AIADMK during the last Parliament elections. Tamil Nadu has seen the “capability” of Election Commission during the by-elections, which were a cakewalk for ruling DMK! Winning elections by ploughing in a lot of money started with the Thirumangalam by-election where Azhagiri made a mark of his new “strategy”, which continued unabated in every by-election thereafter. If an Election Commission could not prevent the electoral malpractices in one Thirumangalam, can it prevent in 234 Thirumangalams?
And don't forget, there is a solid gap of one month between poll day and result day! Dr Subramanian Swamy and other activists have proved beyond doubt that electronic voting machines could be tampered easily. Though the Court is seized of the matter, it has not given any judgment, even an interim one. So, the same old machines are going to be deployed.
Now since the deal is sealed after a scintillating drama, let us focus on arithmetic. The DMK-led alliance is arithmetically strong and financially very strong. Apart from its own share of 25 per cent to 30 per cent, DMK has Congress with 8 per cent to 10 per cent, PMK (Pattali Makkal Katchi) with 6 per cent to 8 per cent and VCK (Viduthalai Chiruthai Katchi) with 3 per cent. On the other hand, AIADMK with 25 per cent to 30 per cent has Vijayakanth's DMDK with 10 per cent, MDMK (Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) with only 3 per cent and Communists with half a dozen strong constituencies. It also has a small dalit outfit by name Puthiya Thamizhagam (PT), which will not make any difference to the overall tally.
The Muslim votes are almost equally divided this time as Muslim League (IUML) is with DMK, while Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) is with AIADMK. The Christians seem to be divided at present, but they are always clever as they decide secretly at the final stages, after observing the scenario closely. Reliable sources say that the Church is allegedly funding both the alliances, as evidenced by the bending over backwards of Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa to Christian tunes. But then, Congress is Church and Church is Congress. So, even if the Christian votes are divided, the majority will go to the alliance where Congress is present.
Tamil Nadu has generally voted as per the traditional pattern and the alliance arithmetic alone has given the victory, especially in the absence of a “wave”. TN has witnessed waves only on three occasions, first a 'Dravidian wave' in 1967 when Congress got disintegrated, second an 'MGR wave' in 1977 when MGR came into the political arena with full force and third a 'sympathy wave' in 1991 when Jayalalithaa emerged as a winner due to Rajiv's assassination.
Though the DMK alliance has an edge by means of vote-share, the AIADMK alliance has an edge by means of people’s perception. The AIADMK alliance's win depends on how effectively it campaigns. However, the DMK-Congress alliance is financially strong as AIADMK alliance is obviously weak on that count. Also a section of Tamil Nadu people have become utterly corrupt as they have started accepting money for their votes. Reliable sources alleged that the money allotments at the ward levels have already started in DMK.
In this kind of a scenario, whichever alliance gets a favourable swing will win. If Karunanidhi's family is subject to interrogation by the CBI and if any one of the members gets arrested before elections, the swing will be in favour of the opposition. Until then, Karunanidhi will have an edge, as his alliance is arithmetically and financially strong.
Meanwhile, opinion polls have started coming out predicting a win for AIADMK alliance. With a sample size of “500” and “1000”, the opinion polls are a big joke! All said and done, Tamil Nadu may witness a violent and bloody election this time as it is a “do-or-die” battle for both DMK and AIADMK. Election Commission must ensure complete security for the people and a free and fair election. Not free for DMK and fair for Congress!
