600 Global Buyers, 2,400 Exhibitors: UP Emerges as New Manufacturing Hub, Yogi Adityanath Says at UP International Trade Show

Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as an increasingly important destination for manufacturing, exports and global business, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighting the state's expanding industrial ecosystem at the fourth Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) in Greater Noida. The event brings together manufacturers, artisans, entrepreneurs and international buyers, providing a platform where the state's traditional strengths meet modern technology, innovation and global markets.

Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a rapid transformation of its economic and industrial landscape, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday, asserting that the state has moved beyond its established strengths in the MSME sector to emerge as a new manufacturing hub.

Speaking after inaugurating the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS), the Chief Minister said the event reflects the changing character of the state's economy by bringing together its traditional craftsmanship and heritage with technology, innovation and modern markets.

He said the trade show provides an opportunity to understand the combined strength of Uttar Pradesh's diverse economic sectors. From traditional products and handicrafts to modern manufacturing and technology-driven enterprises, the event seeks to present the state's capabilities before domestic and international buyers.

According to Yogi Adityanath, participation from international buyers has expanded significantly. While around 550 buyers from 72 countries participated in the previous edition, this year's event has attracted more than 600 buyers from 90 countries, while around 1.5 lakh business-to-business visitors are expected to participate.

The Chief Minister said the growing international presence demonstrates the increasing interest in products manufactured and developed in Uttar Pradesh. He described the state as an important gateway for international companies looking to establish operations in India and access global markets.

The trade show, he said, also reflects the growing confidence in the quality of products from Uttar Pradesh, the strength of its supply chains and the capabilities of its entrepreneurs. He linked this expanding economic activity with the broader vision of a new Uttar Pradesh contributing to the development of a new India.

The fourth UPITS is being organised at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida and will continue until September 29. The event has brought together more than 2,400 exhibitors representing different segments of the state's economic ecosystem. It is expected to attract around 1.5 lakh B2B buyers and visitors and about 4.5 lakh general visitors.

A major focus of this year's edition is the state's One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative. The exhibition will also provide significant visibility to the One District, One Cuisine (ODOC) initiative, highlighting the distinctive food traditions and products associated with different districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The initiatives are designed to give local producers, artisans, manufacturers and entrepreneurs greater access to markets while showcasing the diversity of products originating from different parts of the state.

The international dimension of UPITS has also expanded, with Austria, Japan, Russia, Singapore, Belarus and Vietnam participating as partner countries. Foreign buyer registrations have been received from several dozen countries, with participation continuing to build around the event.

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) is supporting international outreach through its Hosted Buyer Programme. The programme is aimed at facilitating business-to-business matchmaking, networking opportunities and interactions between exporters and overseas buyers.

With traditional industries sharing space with modern manufacturing and emerging enterprises, UPITS is seeking to present Uttar Pradesh not merely as a large consumer market but as a production and export base with a wide-ranging industrial ecosystem.

The participation of international buyers and businesses also provides local enterprises with opportunities to explore new markets, establish commercial partnerships and understand global demand. For small and medium enterprises in particular, such platforms can help connect local capabilities with international supply chains.

The trade show therefore serves as both a marketplace and a showcase of Uttar Pradesh's economic diversity. Its emphasis on MSMEs, manufacturing, traditional products, cuisine, technology and exports reflects the state's effort to broaden its economic base and strengthen its presence in international trade.

As UPITS continues in Greater Noida, the state is using the platform to project its evolving industrial identity—one that combines its longstanding traditions and craftsmanship with manufacturing, innovation and expanding global business connections.
